Misc news (Axl action figure?, Buckethead and Robin / Ghosts Of Mars etc.)
The latest issue of Toyfare Magazine (the issue has Elvis Presley's action figure on the cover and Axl Rose is also mentioned) has a feature about Rock N' Roll toys and action figures. The article has a sidebar listing potention "rockers" that the editors would like to see immortalized in plastic. Topping the list is none other than Axl Rose! In fact, the magazine commisioned a custom-action figure studio to create a prototype of a potential Axl figure. It is sporting a kilt, bandana, backwards cap, "Manson" t-shirt and a leather jacket.

Buckethead and Robin Finck will appear on the Ghosts Of Mars soundtrack. It's directed by John Carpenter.

ON THE HOUSE

Now we know what Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose does when he's not rocking.

He feasts his eyes on the Food Network. That's where he first learned about Philadelphia's Buddakan, or so he told restaurant owner Stephen Starr. Rose was dining at the upscale Asian eatery with two companions Wednesday before the Sixers-Lakers basketball game. When Starr approached to say hello, the hard rock hero recognized him. That's because before becoming one of Philly's restaurant mavens, Starr worked as a music promoter. "I promoted their show at the Trocadero about 10 years ago, and then another one at the Spectrum." (Can somebody hum "Thanks for the Memories?") Starr says he picked up the check. No word on how Rose rated his lobster.

Live Era '87-'93 went to number 3 on the Brazilian album charts right after Rock In Rio 3.
