Axl Rose loses to Geffen Records

JUDGMENT • A U.S. federal judge cleared the way Monday for Geffen Records to release a greatest-hits album next Tuesday from the rock band Guns N' Roses over the objection of its lead singer, Axl Rose.

Rose sued Geffen, seeking to prevent the best-of collection from being released, claiming he was not consulted on material for the album.

He was joined as a plaintiff in the suit by original band members, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan. Their request for a restraining order was denied as planned next Tuesday. -Herald News Services
